CIS 300: Introduction to Computer Game Design

Assignment 6
Technical Prototype

Due: Thursday, March 13th in class

Your second presentation is your technical prototype. Prototypes should be demonstrated in section. As with the game play prototype, you should come to class with your prototype and prepare a 5 minute demonstration of what your prototype does. You should also be prepared to handle questions from the audience --- either the instructors or other students.

Unlike the game play prototype, the technical prototype should be an "evolutionary" prototype. The code that you demonstrate for this prototype should find its way back into your final project. That means that a useful thing to have for this prototype would be (nearly) completed character controls with a few obstacles in place. Level editors are another popular, and useful thing, to prototype for the technical prototype. These two go together as most groups find that a level editor is a must if they want to start introducing obstacles on the screen.

There is nothing to turn in for this assignment. However, you should remember to turn in your second two week report. This report will constitute your written portion of this assignment.
