News ArchiveSchedule this week, and other stuff (05/02/2005) We (both halves) are meeting every day (MTWF) in Hollister 206 for final presentations. There is no real computer in the room, so please have your group bring a laptop when you present. You may use my laptop if necessary, but please let me know in advance if you'll be needing it. And don't forget about the level design assignment due -Mohan Colin is a big idiot (04/29/2005) Somehow, the last time I edited Guys!, I broke it entirely. If you tried to download and play it recently, you noticed. The new exe is available and working and it's all peachy. Thanks to Stephanie for telling me about this. /me kicks himself. Course Evaluations (04/27/2005) We will have specialized evaluations to for you to do, but you must also complete the online evaluations required by the college. Go here to complete the evaluation. -Mohan Thursday Music office hours canceled (04/13/2005) I will no longer be holding music office hours on Thursdays, including tomorrow the 14th. If you need help with music for your game and can't make it to my Wednesday hours (6-8), feel free to email me and we'll set up a time to meet. - Danny Room update for Wednesday, 03/30 (03/29/2005) Due to the fact that we will be needing audio equipment for Wednesday's Music lecture, class has been moved to Lincoln Hall B20. For those of you who, like me, are geographically challenged, here's a map (it's in the North East of the Arts Quad). Schedule Madness (03/28/2005) As per DIS's email, the schedule for the next four weeks has changed. Update: Remember that Tuesdays and Fridays are flipped a bit like they were last time. Here's that schedule again for you:
For the other days, come to Hollister 206. See the table for lecture topics:
Colin finally made an old news page. (03/28/2005) All that old stuff you don't care about any more is now in the News Archive. A Letter from Danny (03/08/2005) Dear CIS 300 Music Students, While the cats are away... (03/04/2005) DIS and Mohan will be out of town next week for GDC, so the schedule for next week is a little modified:
AC2 should be installed in CSUG later today. If you like, you can use the optional lab or cancelled lecture days to catch up on your questing... Also, a few things to keep in mind:
Be good while we're gone....
Schedule Fun! (02/25/2005)
AC2 Info (02/25/2005) Our Turbine contacts have given us a FAQ to address all the questions we've been receiving. Click here to check it out. Bill Speaketh (02/17/2005) Art Lab 2 has been updated, make sure to check it out. I want to emphasize that you should not draw your frames choronologically. Instead, start with the key frames. Those are the contact point, recoil point, high point, and passing point. Then plot them out on a timeline and add the appropriate frames in between each key frame. Your character will probably not look completely natural with the same amount of frames in between each key frame. It takes longer to go from the high point to the contact point than it does the contact point to the recoil point, for example. Colin wants to play AC2 (02/17/2005) For those of you without a DVD drive, Turbine provides a downloadable installer for Asheron's Call 2. If you're on ResNet, be warned: the client installer is 990 MB. Additional Software Available For those wishing to use software not currently available in the CL3 lab (such as ImageReady), we have a listing of which labs provide which software. The web site is here: http://www.cit.cornell.edu/labs/software.html The list of CIT labs available is here: http://www.cit.cornell.edu/labs Art Hours! Brad and Bill will be holding art "office hours" (scheduled time, really) in CL3 at the following times:
A Letter from Danny Hey CIS300 Music Students, I will be holding up to five hours of office hours each week in Lincoln B25C. This is the digital music lab, and is situated in a small alcove in the northern section of the basement. If you come in from the East Avenue side of Lincoln, go down the stairs, make a right, and another right. These are optional for you to come to, but there is plenty of fun stuff to use in the digital music lab (~$20,000 of musical equipment), and I'm hoping you will use it frequently enough to complete a couple of songs each. Please email me whether you will be able to come to the lab during following hours, and if you plan on coming to any times this week:
