CIS 300: Introduction to Computer Game Design

MSDNAA Information

The Cornell CS department is a member of the MicroSoft Developer Network Academic Alliance. Cornell affiliates with CS or CSUGLab accounts may be provided with a variety of Microsoft products (including Visual Studio .NET) to be used within the bounds of the MSDN EULA. You can find more information about the MSDNAA program at http://www.msdnaa.net.

In order for CIS 300 students to access the MSDNAA software, they must first have CSUGLab accounts. These accounts are provided to students in CIS 300. Information relating to your personal CSUGLab is available here: http://www.csuglab.cornell.edu/userinfo.htm. If you are in the class and do not yet have an account, please contact Professor Schwartz.

Once your account is set up, you must then fill out the MSDN Academic Alliance CSUGLab Student Use Guidelines form, available in Upson 311. This form goes over the guidelines for participation in MSDNAA.

After the form is turned in and your account is activated, you should now be able to connect to the MSDNAA site at Cornell - http://msdnaa.cs.cornell.edu. Your username will be csuglab\netID, and your password will be your CSUGLab account password. At the site, you will find a list of all the software available. Most notably for CIS 300 purposes, this includes Visual Studio .NET. A convenient install file for the program is available, although this does not include the help files.
