Assignment 2
Effective Communication
In Friday's class, we divided into groups, exchanged contact information, and started talking about what games we would like to design.
This assignment is a continuation of what we started in class. Please read through these steps in that process and make sure you have completed everything. Parts VI and VII require you to hand in a file (using CMS) and bring some materials to class next week.
- Introduce yourselves. Write down everyone's name, email address, phone number, and any other contact information you might like.
- Go around the group and give your names again, as well as your experise and interests for your role in the project. Your expertise and your interests may be the same, but not necessarily!
- Go around the group and have each member suggest a possibilty for the project. More than one of you may have the same project idea in mind; this is fine.
- Go around the group and have each member suggest one of each of the following for the various project ideas:
- Something about the idea that would make it fun to play or design
- Something about the idea that would make it challenging as a design project
- Collectively select the one "best" possibility for your project. Have someone write out a paragraph or so describing this game. Also discuss alternative project ideas, and write them as a list under the best project's description.
- Type up this description and the list of alternate ideas as a .txt file. Submit this to us using CMS. This part is due Sunday, January 30, at 12:00pm (noon)
- Individually, write about a half-page case for the project you think is the best (this does not necessarily have to be the one you decided on collectively). Be prepared to present this to the group during your writing lab next week. Have this ready by Tuesday, February 1, in time for class.
