Since receiving his Ph.D. in 1990, Ephrahim Garcia has worked for the Department of Defense, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and the CIA, where he was given top secret clearance. He has taught at Vanderbilt University, conducted research for NASA, the National Science Foundation, the Air Force, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Army Research Office, and has started his own consulting company. He was named a Presidential Faculty Fellow by Bill Clinton and an ONR Young Investigator, and he is now an associate professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell.
