About IAI

The Information Assurance Institute was founded in Spring 2000 with funding from Air Force Scientific Research and the Air Force Research Laboratories.

The Institute supports a broad spectrum of activities aimed at developing a science and technology base to enhance information assurance and networked information systems trustworthiness—system and network security, reliability and assurance.

Beyond this initial focus, efforts will also encompass work in programming languages and data mining.

For more information on the Institute, contact IAI Director, Dr. Fred B. Schneider.

For more on information assurance, Trust in Cyberspace (Committee on Information Systems Trustworthiness, National Research Council, National Academy Press, 1999) is available on-line.
