Professor Carol Krumhansl teaches auditory perception and the psychology of music and maintains an active laboratory for empirical research. She is a leading figure in establishing music cognition as a broad interdisciplinary field of study. She has held fellowships and visiting appointments at I.R.C.A.M. in Paris; the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, Stanford; Department of Musicology, Jyväskylä, Finland; and the Montreal Neurological Institute.
